Zones

Ideas

Each zone frames one question about the future. Seasons pose it, members answer, and signatories direct the research money.

Missing Institutions

Every era invents the institutions it needs. The joint-stock company, the patent office, the central bank, the peer-reviewed journal — each was once a strange new answer to a strange new problem. The approach of general-purpose AI is the strangest new problem yet, and most of the institutions it needs do not exist. This zone designs them.
